The Acting Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Hon. Adebimpe Akinola, has confirmed the conclusion of the plans to complete all ongoing tourism development projects in the Badagry axis of Lagos State.
The acting commissioner, during her inspection of the projects on Monday, reiterated the government’s commitment to make the state a tourism destination in Nigeria.
Akinsola said that the government will not relent in it’s effort to boost the tourism potentials of the state. She also added that the various projects will be completed to meet the Global Standard.
The projects visited included the reconstructed 154 – year old Heritage Museum and other slave trade monuments, as well as other projects that symbolized memories of the slave trade activities in the area.
During her address, she said that the reconstruction of the Heritage Museum will not affect the historical contents and value of the museum, adding that the museum will be completed with well equipped and functional facilities to serve all categories of tourists, including children and the elderly.
